New Faces, New Places at DeSoto County Schools

   The DeSoto County Board of Education approved 19 new assistant principals in the school district, openings created by retirements, resignations, transfers, student growth and need.

   These new assistant principals were:

1. Kelly Densford at Shadow Oaks Elementary School
2. Carla Gowen at Horn Lake Intermediate School
3. Robert Cushman and Marco Findley at Horn Lake Middle School (one new position, and one replacement for Kristina Pollard who went to HLHS)
4. Brad Meadows and at Horn Lake High School (replacing Andy Schoggin, new principal at Senatobia High School, and Bridgett Martin, new principal at Sacred Heart)
5. Larry Hood and Brooke Phillips at Olive Branch Middle School (replacing two retirees—Tim Franks and Brenda Farrow)
6. LaWanda Wallace at Southaven Intermediate School
7. Elizabeth Boggs, Timothy Chrestman and Laura Hadaway at Southaven Middle School (replacing Brooke Howell who resigned to go to Magnolia Heights, David Williams who resigned to become the new principal at Independence High School and one new position)
8. Michelle Bordwell, Lorie Lundy and Matt Smith at Southaven High School (replacing Shane Jones who has been named principal at Southaven High School, Shane Wigley who is being transferred to Center Hill Middle School and Lewisburg Middle School, and a new position)
9. Jennifer Stripling at DeSoto Central Middle School (replacing Rick Townsend who was transferred to Hernando Middle School)
10. Cliff Johnston at DeSoto Central High School (replacing Andy Orr who has been named principal at Horn Lake High School)
11. Spence Rodman at Lewisburg High School (replacing Ryan Kuykendall who has become the Accountability and Research Director at the County Office)
12. Marche Phillips at Lake Cormorant Elementary School (replacing Donna White who has been transferred to Olive Branch Intermediate School)
13. Sara Jane Russell at Lake Cormorant High School

   Dawn Davis has been named English Language Learner (ELL) Supervisor. Assistant Principal transfers included: Rick Townsend from DeSoto Central Middle School to Hernando Middle School; Kristina Pollard from Horn Lake Middle School to Horn Lake High School; Bonita Maready from Olive Branch Intermediate School to Lake Cormorant Middle School; Shane Wigley from Southaven High School to Lewisburg Middle School and Center Hill Middle School; Leighanne Wamble from DeSoto Central High School to Greenbrook Elementary School; Jerry Floate from Hernando Middle School to Lake Cormorant High School; Rob Chase from Lake Cormorant High School to DeSoto Central High School and Donna White from Lake Cormorant Elementary School to Olive Branch Intermediate School.
